VIL-VCU for secondment and temporary employment organizations

More about VIL-VCA, the course, the exam and obtaining the diploma

VIL-VCU is meant for those who work at a temporary employment or secondment organization and place people at companies with activities in high-risk environments. With a VIL-VCU diploma you can demonstrate that you have basic knowledge of the aspects of safety, environment and health. You also demonstrate that you know how the people you place can work safely and healthily for their clients.

VIL-VCU

VIL-VCU stands for Safety for Intermediaries and Managers (VIL) - Safety and Health Checklist for Temporary Employment Organizations (VCU). VIL-VCU is the personal designation for someone working at a temporary employment or secondment organization. With VIL-VCU you demonstrate that you have the necessary knowledge of the safety, health and environmental aspects that apply within companies. If you have a VIL-VCU diploma, companies know that you have the knowledge needed to select the right people to work in high-risk environments.

VIL-VCU deals with the possibilities you have to influence the creation of a safe work environment. This could include keeping clear records of the (safety) diplomas of each temporary worker and the work for which the temporary worker can be considered medically suitable.

If a client asks for VCU certification that applies to temporary staffing organizations, the people you place often have to hold a valid VCA or VCA diploma themselves in order to work at these companies.

What you will learn in VIL-VCU

In VIL-VCU, you will be taught the basics of VOL-VCA. VOL-VCA is the course for managers within organizations in the field of safety, health and environment. This course material is supplemented with information specifically applicable to the temporary employment sector. For example, the responsibilities of a temporary employment agency are discussed when it comes to safety on the work floor and liability in case of accidents or incidents. Attention is also paid to legislation concerning the relationship between the hirer, temporary employee and the temporary employment agency. Subjects that are part of VOL-VCA that are not relevant to you because you yourself do not perform work in a high-risk work environment are omitted in VIL-VCU.

With VIL-VCU, you will learn more about the various topics:

  • Basic health and safety knowledge
  • Laws and regulations, focused on the staffing industry
  • Task and risk analysis
  • Risks and accidents
  • Working at height
  • Working with hazardous materials
  • Working with electricity
  • Working in confined spaces
  • Safe use of machinery and tools
  • Personal protective equipment

Why VIL-VCU?

With VIL-VCU you can demonstrate to clients that you have the necessary knowledge to recruit and place the right people. After obtaining your VIL-VCU certificate, you will know what to look out for during the selection procedure. Because you also have the basic knowledge of safe working after passing the VIL-VCU exam, you know which questions to ask candidates to test their competence.
In addition, you will know what diplomas, knowledge and skills are required for a temporary worker to work safely at organizations with high-risk work environments. In addition, you will know what your responsibilities are when placing people with these types of organizations.
