VCA-basic, stands for Basic Safety VCA and is also called B-VCA . VCA-basic is designed for employees who perform work that is risky, or work in a high-risk environment. VCA-base gives you more knowledge and skills on how to perform your job in a safe and healthy way.
VCA-base was created to provide employees in executive positions with the basic knowledge of safe and healthy working. B-VCA helps you recognize high-risk situations and gives you the knowledge on how to handle certain situations, in accordance with various laws, regulations and guidelines.
So with VCA-basically, you learn to recognize in practice what are risky situations and what to do in the these situations.
You will learn about the following topics:
What do you do if you need to move a riser? What precautions do you take if you need to use a chainsaw? How do you extinguish a fire near electronics? What is the right personal protective equipment in a given situation?
These are the kinds of questions you'll work with as you prepare for the VCA-basic exam or during a VCA-basic-safety course. You take the Basic Safety VCA exam because you want to get your B-VCA diploma. But also because you want to stay healthy and work safely. Moreover, it is nice that after passing your exam VCA you know how to act in certain risky situations and how not to endanger your colleagues. Knowing how to work or act safely benefits everyone.

If you want to take a B-VCA exam, you can schedule it through PBNA. PBNA takes the VCA-base exams at as many as 60 locations throughout the Netherlands. There is always a location near you where you can usually take your B-VCA exam within a week.

You can prepare for the VCA-base exam in several ways: with a course or through self-study.
You can take the course in several ways: online and in class. The advantage of an on-site VCA-course is that it focuses on practical situations. The instructor explains the VCA topics from practical situations and there is every opportunity to ask questions or go deeper into parts. In this way, you not only know what is expected of you in certain situations, but also the 'why' behind it.
You can also choose to prepare individually for the VCA exam, or to study VCA basics on your own in addition to taking the course. Through PBNA you can register for the examination Basic Safety VCA and find all the resources you need to start working with the material from B-VCA yourself.
Once you have taken your VCA-basic exam, you will receive your exam results within one business day. Once you have scored enough points and passed the exam, you will receive your VCA basic diploma and VCA pass. This diploma shows that you have basic knowledge of safety, health and the environment. You know how to work safely while considering the health of yourself and others, as well as the environment.
The diploma is valid for 10 years and is registered in the VCA register. If you don't know exactly when you need to get your VCA-base again, you can also look up in this database when your diploma expires.
