Ex 000 - Basic knowledge and awareness for entering a site with explosive areas
Ex 000
This "unit of competency" contains the basic knowledge needed when entering an area, in which there are areas with explosion hazards. The purpose of this unit is to provide all persons who have access to hazardous areas, or who perform work there, with sufficient awareness and knowledge to deal responsibly with the risks there.
This unit covers the following sections:
understanding explosion hazards
the restrictions placed on equipment in an explosion risk environment
the health and safety procedures and responsibilities that apply in these explosive zones
Ex 000 gives employees greater awareness of explosion hazards and basic knowledge of how to deal with them. Ex 000 is designed for individuals who are not directly involved in the technical or operational aspects in the explosion hazard area, but need the basic knowledge to enter these areas safely.
Preliminary training
No prior education is required to take the Ex 000 exam.
The Ex 000 exam
Theory: multiple-choice questions and an available time of 30 min.
Practical examination: not applicable.
You have passed the theory exam if you have obtained at least 75% of the number of points
Cost of an IECEx Ex 000 exam
The cost for participation in the Ex 000 theory exam is € 92.50 (excluding VAT).
If there are multiple candidates, contact the Royal PBNA to discuss options for taking a group exam.

Applying CoPC
With the attestation and with an evidence file (documents in which your work experience is recorded by your employer), you can apply for a personal certificate that complies with the international IECEx 05 certification scheme at Royal PBNA. This certificate is valid for 5 years and is valid internationally.
