About the CoPC, the IECEx 05 person certificate

After obtaining an attestation for a particular unit, it is possible to apply for a personal certificate (CoPC). With this personal certificate, issued under the international IECEx 05 scheme, you are able to prove that you have the knowledge and skills required to safely perform certain types of work related to explosion equipment and installations. With this CoPC, you can demonstrate throughout the world to companies that have accepted this certification scheme that you have the required knowledge and skills.

A CoPC is valid for 5 years and is published online on the IECEx website. Certified individuals can receive a portfolio card showing the scope of their competencies upon request.

CoPC applications

To apply for a CoPC, you must meet the requirements necessary to obtain a personal certificate. For example, to apply you need an Attestation (proof that you have passed the examinations of the relevant units) and an Evidence File. This is a document in which the employer records work experience in explosion safety.

PBNA will then assess whether the official IECEx 05 Person Certificate can be issued.
