Applying CoPC

After successful completion of the Ex 002 exam, you can apply for a 5-year IECEx CoPC. With the attestation and with an evidence file (documents in which your work experience is recorded by your employer), you can apply for a personal certificate that complies with the international IECEx 05 certification scheme at Royal PBNA. This certificate is valid for 5 years and applies internationally.

If you want to apply for a personal certification that includes unit Ex 002, it is also necessary that you have a degree in the field of technical education, or equivalent provable level in a technical subject. Ex 002, classifying areas, requires you to understand the danger and properties of flammable materials. You must also be familiar with the processes and equipment used in various work situations. You must have sufficient knowledge to work with experts in safety, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other technical specialists in the workplace.

Finally, you must also be able to demonstrate appropriate competencies in collecting and analyzing technical data, and using it for risk assessment.

The download at the bottom of this page (OD504) lists what you must meet for the Person Certificate that unit 002 is part of.
