The NEN 3140 VP exam is intended for employees who perform electrical work independently in their work and for those who have access to switch rooms. For example, fault or service technicians who work in switch cabinets, perform measurements or repair or replace parts.
For example, a Skilled Person may perform the following work:
Inspecting and testing electrical installations to ensure continuity and safety.
Locating and fixing faults in electrical systems.
Performing repairs and replacements on electrical components and equipment.
Performing modifications to existing electrical systems.
Supervising and instructing less experienced technicians or VOPs
NEN 3140 VP exam
The NEN 3140 VP exam consists of 40 multiple-choice questions. You can expect questions on the following topics:
Laws and regulations
Dangers of electricity
Designation of persons
Electrical equipment
Work safely.
You have 60 minutes to answer the exam questions. You will pass if you answered at least 28 questions correctly.
In addition to successfully passing the exam, a written designation by the employer is required to be officially designated as a VP.
