Ex 010 focuses on "Performing audit inspections of electrical installations in or associated with explosive atmospheres." This unit covers the competencies needed to perform audits on electrical installations to determine compliance with relevant hazardous area standards. This includes verifying design and certification documentation (verification file), performing safety inspections based on standards and reporting audit results.

To take the exam Ex 010, it is a requirement that you also have the knowledge of unit 001 and have passed that exam (attestation), or take it at the same time as unit 010.
You have passed the exam when you have obtained at least 75% of the number of points:
The Ex 010 theoretical exam in English costs €230 (excl. VAT).
The Ex 010 theoretical exam in Dutch costs € 245,- (excl. VAT).
The cost for participation in the Ex 010 practical exam is €485 (excluding VAT).

After successful completion of the Ex 010 exam, you can apply for a 5-year IECEx CoPC. In addition to passing the Ex 005 exam, there are a few more requirements for applying for the CoPC:
If you want to apply for a personal certificate that includes unit Ex 010, it is necessary that you have also obtained the attestation of unit Ex 001. Ex 001 is about applying the basic principles of safety in explosive atmospheres.
For the Ex 010 exam, you have to show that you have sufficient technical training. To do this, we ask you to send us documents such as certificates from training institutes and professional qualifications.
You must demonstrate at least 3 years of experience in general electrical installations or inspections, as well as at least 2 years of practical experience in inspections of electrical installations in hazardous areas.

Scope restrictions will clearly demonstrate that the areas of competency apply to both those performing the work and those responsible. Restrictions on the scope of explosive protection techniques, a group or voltage strength, are applicable to unit 010. Any scope limitations will be included in the application according to OD 502 (it can be found among the downloads at the bottom of this page).
