As of Jan. 1, 2024, there are major changes in IECEx 05 theory exams.
Royal PBNA is an IECEx 05 recognized Ex Certification Body (ExCB). From January 1, 2024, the Ex001 exam will change. We have to test from then on, this basic unit, via software from IECEx. The multiple choice questions will be tested in English from then on.
The open questions and the practical exam can still be taken in Dutch.
We are currently busy investigating how and if we can translate the multiple-choice questions into Dutch. The English-language questions will not be released to ExCBs until December. As a result, the translation will not be ready on January 1, 2024.
From IECEx, initially this obligation of testing via software with question bank only applies to unit Ex001. In the future the other units will be transferred to the new software and question bank, probably starting with Ex003/Ex006 and Ex007/Ex008.
This has implications for our exam offerings. From January 1, 2024, the Ex001 theory exams will be offered in separate sessions.
