This unit of competency covers the explosion protection aspects for carrying out an audit of an electrical installation. This requires the expertise to verify that a plant complies with the relevant hazardous area standards for that plant and includes verification of system and certification documentation (verification file), maintenance, overhaul and repair, work safety, standards-based inspection and reporting of audit results.
The applicant must have a level of technical education (or equivalent) relevant to the application, with documents such as a degree, diploma, certificates from training institutes, professional qualifications, etc.
Minimum of 3 years' practical experience in general electrical installations or inspections, at least
2 years' practical experience in hazardous area electrical installations inspections.
Competence in this area of competence is awarded concurrently with or subsequent to area of competence: Ex 001 - Applying the basic principles of safety in explosive atmospheres;
Ex 008 - Carrying out detailed inspections of electrical installations in or related to explosive atmospheres, and the;
009 - Design of electrical installations in or related to explosive atmospheres reviewed
Limitations of the scope:
Restrictions on scope will clearly show that the competence areas apply to both the people doing the work and the people in charge. Restriction of scope of a group ia applicable to unit 010. Any limitations on scope shall be included in the application as per OD 502.
You have passed the examination if you have obtained at least 75% of the points
Apply for CoPC:
After successful completion of the Ex 010 exam (theory and practice), the candidate can apply for a 5-year IECEx CoPC.
Cost of an IECEx Ex 010 exam:
The cost of participating in the Ex 010 theory exam is € 195,- (excl. VAT).
